The Financial Voice for Blue Collar America

Jon didn’t come from money, inherit a client book, or learn about wealth management from a textbook. He figured it out the hard way, and has spent 30+ years helping blue collar Americans do the same.

It All Started as a Favor Over the Fourth of July

Jon Sanchez's career in radio started, of all things, as a favor.

The Favor That Started It All

In 1997, he was four years into his career as a broker in Bakersfield, California when a few colleagues asked him to cover their Saturday radio show over the Fourth of July weekend.

Finding His Voice

He'd never touched a microphone before, but he figured “Why not?” and ended up discovering something he hadn't expected: Explaining the markets in plain language to everyday working people came naturally to him.

Calling Nevada Home

Jon and his wife made the move to Lake Tahoe and opened his Reno and Lake Tahoe office in 2004. As a graduate of Wooster High School in 1982, Jon had left Reno in 1983, and returning in 2004 finally felt like coming home.

He landed a spot with local News Talk 780 KOH and earned a Saturday slot that the station eventually moved to 5:00 PM, then to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, where it's remained ever since.

Off the Air

Jon resides in Smith Valley, Nevada, with his wife Megan, where he lives on a working ranch—a lifestyle that reinforces his deep respect for hard work, stewardship, and long-term thinking.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, offshore fishing on his yacht “Whatever It Takes”, scuba diving, and spending time fishing the streams and rivers of Nevada.

These pursuits reflect the same values that guide his professional life: patience, preparation, respect for nature, and an appreciation for legacy.

The Mission and Vision of Every Episode

mission

The Jon Sanchez Show exists to give listeners the knowledge, the strategies, and the confidence to make sound financial decisions for themselves and their families, on their own terms. Without needing someone else standing between them and their own money.

vision

Jon believes every person, regardless of what they do for a living or how much they have saved, deserves access to the same quality of financial knowledge the wealthy have always enjoyed. Delivered plainly, honestly, and without an agenda.

The Values Behind Every Show

Education Over Entertainment

Every broadcast is built around what the audience needs to know, not what makes for good radio.

Wealth Over Money

Jon teaches listeners to think in terms of long-term financial security and assets that compound over decades, not short-term gains that disappear just as fast.

Trust Is Earned

Jon has never run a sponsored segment, never recommended a product for commission, and never changed his message to suit an advertiser.

Relationships First

Ninety-five percent of the clients who contact Jon have already made their decision before they pick up the phone.

Authenticity Without Exception

Jon is the same person on air as he is off it. He's not in Wall Street's corner, he's in yours.

Empowerment Over Dependency

Jon's goal is to make himself unnecessary, and he’s comfortable saying so directly to the people he works with.

Respect for the Self-Made

Jon has zero interest in inherited wealth or financial pedigree. His respect is for the person who figured it out the hard way, because that’s his story, too.

Patience and Discipline as Strategy

The families who build lasting wealth are the ones who stayed disciplined when everyone else was reacting to headlines. Jon teaches his audience to treat financial growth the way a serious athlete treats training, with consistency, a long view, and no shortcuts.

More Than a Voice
in the Community

Jon has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities close to his heart. For Jon, giving back to the community he lives and works in has always been as important as the show itself.

Advice Built on Trust, Not Transactions

The listeners who found Jon when the markets were falling apart have never stopped listening. Not through the dot-com crash, not through 2008, not even through every bear market since. When it mattered most, his guidance held up.
